Finally, a life coach for those on the spectrum
One thing I have learned from working in the public schools is they offer the bare minimum in services due to costs. Those on the spectrum have many more services from grades K-12, but then what? Your Autism Whisperer offers life mapping with obtainable goals for their future. If your child is 14 or older, it's time to consider outside help that will be with them throughout their journey. Consider an experienced Autism Life Coach for your child before they graduate from high school.

Planning for Your Child's Independence
When your child is about 14, please start thinking about where they will live as an adult. For your child to qualify for a group home placement as an adult, registration is needed with your state’s developmental disabilities agency. And because the wait for group home placement can be up to 10 years, the sooner you register, the better.
In most states, people with disabilities are 21 or 22 years old when they become ineligible for education services through the local public school system. After high school, kids may attend college or vocational school, get a job, or volunteer. Many communities have young-adult education programs that teach life skills like cooking, cleaning, job training, and financial literacy. Talk to your school guidance counselor or local Office of Vocational Rehabilitation to learn what programs are available in your area.
